
This year, the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord (Christmas) and the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph are back-to-back. This might be confusing for Catholics wanting to fulfill their obligation of love to celebrate the Eucharist on both feasts and holy days of obligation.
To assist in planning your Mass attendance, we’ve created the diagram below. The schedule for the celebrations of the Eucharist is also included in the text below. The schedule for the celebrations of the Eucharist on Christmas and the Feast of the Holy Family as well as those on New Year’s weekend is also included in the text below. Please pay close attention to the schedule, as there are numerous changes from our normal schedule. Christmas (12/24-25):
Friday, December 24, 2021: 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 25, 2021: 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m.
There will be no anticipatory Mass for the Feast of the Holy Family on the afternoon of Saturday, December 25.
Holy Family (12/26):
Sunday, December 26, 2021: 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m.
Mary, Mother of God (1/1):
Saturday, January 1: 8:00 a.m.
Because this feast falls on a Saturday, it is NOT a Holy Day of Obligation this year. As such, there will be no anticipatory Mass on the afternoon of Friday, December 31. There also will be NO anticipatory Mass for the Feast of the Epiphany on the afternoon of Saturday, January 1.
Epiphany (1/2):
Sunday, January 2: 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m.
