Notre Dame Parish has many ways to serve God and fellow parishoners.  From music to Eucharistic Ministers, to Lectors and Ushers; you may contribute to the Holy Mass. 

Ministry of Ushers and Hospitality

As an usher and minister of hospitality, you fulfill a very important role in the life of Notre Dame church. You are the first people that are seen at church and therefore you can help the faithful feel welcome and you will assist at the Mass to ensure order and reverence. Senior Adults of Notre Dame (S.A.N.D.)

The senior planning group of Notre Dame parish provides education and recreation for senior citizens here at Notre Dame. By joining this group you can help plan and implement relevant activies for the whole parish. If you are interested in be involved in the senior group please call Francey at

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary ministers of holy communion are those men and women mandated by the Archbishop of Denver to share in the apostolic work of the church when a true pastoral need exists as determined by the pastor, administrator or chaplain of a parish or other faith community.

To serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion one must be:

  • Be at least 18 years only
  • Have received the Sacraments of Initiation, that is Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation
  • If married, living in a sacramental marriage
  • Be willing to serve the People of God at Mass
  • Attend one yearly workshop hosted by the parish
  • Receive liturgical mandation by the Archbishop of Denver

Altar Servers / Sacristans

The altar servers/sacristans assist the priests and deacons during daily and weekend masses, including wedding and funeral masses.
fo serve as an Altar Server one must:

  • Have the permission of their parents and the commitment of their parents to bring the youth to the assigned Mass time
  • Be at least in the 4th Grade
  • Attend a training session and memorize the names and uses of liturgical items
  • Be willing to serve God and His Holy people at Mass
  • This Ministry is open to both boys and girls

Lectors/Proclaimers of the Word

To serve as a Lector one must:

  • Be able to proclaim the Word of God in front of the gathered congregation
  • Spend at least one hour a week studying and preparing the Scripture Readings for the upcoming week
  • If married, living in a sacramental marrriage
  • Be willing to serve the People of God at Mass
  • Attend one yearly workshop hosted by the parish
  • This ministry is open to youth as well as adults

Bereavement

The Notre Dame Bereavement Ministry provides comfort and consolation for our parish families who are grieving the death of someone they have loved in this life. The ministry provides continuing education through workshops on funeral and estate planning as well as grief support groups throughout the year. The annual, "Coping with the Holiday's," sessions will be in the Religous Education Office, located at 2160 S Zenobia St. If you would like more information about the Bereavement Ministry, please call 303-742-2417.
