Outreach Ministries

We Spread His Word With a Servant’s Heart

Through outreach ministries, we witness to Christ and share his gospel with everyone we meet.  We serve one another and especially the poor, believing that those who have less in life should have more in love–Jesus’ love and ours.  We provide spiritual, educational, social, justice, and charitable events and activities in the parish and community that deepen one’s friendship with Jesus and equip individuals to serve one another within their families and communities.

There are a number of ways we give beyond our own parish community.

HOSPITALITY CORNER — Volunteers are needed to join parish staff members to help staff our new Hospitality Corner.  Volunteers greet visitors, hand out parish information, take requests for information, help register parishioners for programs and events, etc.  The desk will be open after all weekend Masses.  Volunteers may sign up for a Mass once a month or as often as they like.  Training provided.  Contact Fr. Leopoldo at 303-935-3900 or lvives@denvernotredame.org.

COFFEE AND DONUTS (and Orange Juice too)! — Coffee and Donuts Sunday is a ministry old but NEW again!  Coffee and donuts will be served on the first Sunday of every month following the 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. Masses.  Volunteers are needed to procure supplies, set up, serve, and clean up.  Contact Bill at 719-237-3432 or whrohlman@earthlink.net.

CHRIST IN THE CITY — Notre Dame partners with Christ in the City to provide lunches to the homeless in Civic Center Park on Wednesdays as assigned.  Volunteers are needed to make and/or serve simple sandwich lunches.  Contact Trish at 303-988-1854 for more information and to get involved.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY (SVDP) — SVDP is truly the “gospel-in-action,” seeking to meet the physical needs of the poor.  Members gather twice a month for prayer and consultation regarding those they are helping.  Two-by-two members make personal visits to those in need and aid in the requests for assistance.  A wonderful ministry for married couples and single persons alike.  Contact Larry at 303-349-1116 or larryquinn@comcast.net.

RESPECT LIFE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE MINISTRY — The Notre Dame Respect Life Ministry strives to cultivate a vibrant culture of life by upholding the dignity of every human person.  So as to recognize Christ in everyone’s face, we educate, support, and are in solidarity with those in our community facing life’s challenges.  We currently meet every 2nd Tuesday at 10:00 am in the ministry center to plan material needs, drives, and events that benefits others.   Contact Lauren at 720-785-4423 or notredamerespectlife@gmail.com.

COMMUNION TO THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND — Extraordinary minister of Holy Communion pray with and take Communion to those recovering from illness/surgery, the elderly, infirmed, or homebound.  Ministers commit to serving on a particular day to a particular person.  Training is provided.  Contact Fr. Leopoldo at lvives@denvernotredame.org or 303-935-3900.

POWERBACK REHAB CENTER  AND LAKEVIEW MANOR LIVING CENTER — Every Wednesday Notre Dame parishioners deliver communion to the patients of the Powerback Rehab Center in Lakewood.  On Thursday parishioners conduct a Communion Service for the residents at Lakeview Senior Living Center.  Ministers are scheduled for a six month period.  Contact Rian at rross@denvernotredame.org or 303-935-3900 for more information.

FRIENDS OF MARTHA AND MARY — A community of volunteer men and women who host, prepare food and/or bake for funeral lunches, the poor, and Marisol shelters for homeless women and children.  They also help with the Capuchin Food Truck and coordinate the food drive for St. Anthony’s foodbank.  Contact Trish at 303-988-1854.
